Porter Stemmer · The Porter stemming algorithm (or ‘Porter stemmer’) is a process for removing the commoner morphological and inflexional endings from words in English. Its main use is as part of a term normalisation process that is usually done when setting up Information Retrieval systems.

How to open Javadoc JAR file in web browser

  1. Rename the file porter-stemmer-1.4-javadoc.jar to porter-stemmer-1.4-javadoc.zip
  2. Use your favourite unzip tool (WinRAR / WinZIP) to extract it, now you have a folder porter-stemmer-1.4-javadoc
  3. Double click index.html will open the index page on your default web browser.

Running the command javadoc:

javadoc --ignore-source-errors -encoding UTF-8 -sourcepath "porter-stemmer-1.4-sources.jar" -d "porter-stemmer-1.4-javadoc" -subpackages
