Maven Plugin Plugin · The Plugin Plugin is used to create a Maven plugin descriptor for any Mojo's found in the source tree, to include in the JAR. It is also used to generate Xdoc files for the Mojos as well as the artifact metadata and a generic help goal.

How to open Javadoc JAR file in web browser

  1. Rename the file maven-plugin-plugin-3.9.0-javadoc.jar to maven-plugin-plugin-3.9.0-javadoc.zip
  2. Use your favourite unzip tool (WinRAR / WinZIP) to extract it, now you have a folder maven-plugin-plugin-3.9.0-javadoc
  3. Double click index.html will open the index page on your default web browser.

How to generate Javadoc from a source JAR?

Running the command javadoc:

javadoc --ignore-source-errors -encoding UTF-8 -sourcepath "maven-plugin-plugin-3.9.0-sources.jar" -d "maven-plugin-plugin-3.9.0-javadoc" -subpackages
